Katie first began her career in recreation programming before setting her sights on law school. After completing her law degree in Ontario, she started her legal career as a researcher in the province, dealing largely with Indigenous rights and other vulnerable populations. While she was proud of her work, her heart longed to return to her family on the West Coast, and she soon made the move back to Vancouver Island. She spent time building her practice with a local firm before opening KNS Law in 2021.
Katie’s compassion is her superpower. She loves working with her clients one-on-one to learn more about them, and figure out how she can best support them. Every client has a story, and Katie loves learning more about each one and figuring out how she can best support them. For Katie, practising family and estate law in a close-knit community like Campbell River is about supporting the whole person, not simply being there to provide a service.
Along with her natural love of the outdoors (what do you expect when you grow up in Victoria), Katie’s other passion is for being a Mom. She’s a busy mom to her young son, and loves exposing him to all of the outdoor activities that she enjoyed at his age.
